Day 40 of Lent   3 April 2010 (Saturday)

Scripture Meditation> I Corinthians 13:1-7

1. What are the ingredients of love by those verses?
2. How you can be helped with such ingredients in your caring about the earth and the poor?

Carbon Fast

> I believe, I love, I care

We believe in:

• Holy Father, Son & Spirit – the triune God who not only created the world but also continue His providence therein.  God like the creation and live among us.
• God at the beginning put up the order of justice and made man with God’s likeness, appointing him as a responsible steward to serve and care for other creation.  
• caring with love the creation is our proper response in our worshipping and obedience to the Lord of creation!

CEDAR invites you:

• In wider aspect, to watch out the progress in international talks over climate and express yourselves through various avenues to persuade for concrete carbon fast measures by governments.
• In daily living, to live out what you get, adjust the living habits and value so as to lead those beside us or even our society in whole to transform.
• About the world, to pay more attention to the problems of environment and climate in different places, pray for them and support organizations doing relief and development works.  They are to start programmes for giving relief to poor communities suffered from drought or flood, raising their capacity and resilience, encouraging their changes for building up a new life in a sustainable manner.
• Using our pamphlets of “Environment and Poverty – I love Father’s world” (www.cedarfund.org/theme2010/eng) to encourage your relatives and friends to serve and care for other creation, care with love the poor.
• Keep on watch CEDAR’s web about the series of I Love Father’s World under “Environment and Poverty”theme for better understanding issues between environment and poverty, locating the fulcrum of our belief, and reflecting on the proper responses by Christians and Churches.

減碳行動
＞我信‧我愛‧我顧惜

我們相信：

• 聖父、聖子、聖靈──三位一體的神，是創造和維繫萬有的主宰，祂喜悅自己的創造並委身其中。 
• 神在起初，在萬有當中建立起公義的關係；我們是按著上帝形象所造的，並蒙召去服侍及愛護別的受造物，並作個向神負責的管家。
• 顧惜萬有是敬拜和順服創造主的舉動。

邀請你：

• 國際層面上，多關注氣候談判最新進展，藉不同渠道表達立場，要求政府落實減排方案。
• 日常生活裡，繼續身體力行，改變價值觀及生活習慣，帶動身邊社群以至整體社會改變。
• 放眼世界，更多關注不同地區所面對的環境與氣候問題，禱告記念，並支持救援及發展機構，推展項目向受突變天氣與長期旱澇影響的貧窮社區提供適切的援助，提升他們的抗災能力和發展潛能，鼓勵他們自力更生和建立可持續發展的生活模式。
• 藉施達的「環境與貧窮──我愛天父世界」單張，鼓勵身邊親友及主內肢體一起服侍和愛護別的受造物，關愛貧窮社群，敬拜和順服創造主。

“From the blood and water flowing out of the wound below the armpit of Jesus Christ, we learnt that his blood made us perfect forever and the water made us holy.” (Hebrews 10:14)
「讓我們認識到從血帶給我們永遠的完全，和藉著水使我們得以成聖。」（希伯來書十14）

Day 39 of Lent   2 April 2010 (Friday)

Scripture Meditation> John 19:31-37

1. Please read John 3:5, 4:10, 6:53, 7:38; Hebrews 9:11-12; and I John 5:6 for the meaning of blood and water mentioned in the verses.
2. Please read Philippians 2:12-13 and Ephesians 2:8-10 for better understanding of why we have to love others.

With his blood Jesus Christ sacrificed for our sin and salvation; through water the God’s Spirit help changing us from the inside.  From the blood and water flowing out of the wound below the armpit of Jesus Christ, we learnt that his blood made us perfect forever and the water made us holy. (Hebrews 10:14)

Please pray for the Christians and Churches in Hong Kong, for the transformation of lives of Christians and Churches so that they may:-
- act in response to the worsening environment and climate;
- stewarding the land and the creation on it;
- helping and caring the neigbours whether they are near or far away but similarly being affected and put to suffering from problems on environment and climate.
- living out our Lord’s teaching on justice and mercy.

默想經文＞約翰福音十九章31-37節

1. 請翻閱約翰福音三章5節、四章10節、六章53節、七章38節；希伯來書九章11-12節；及約翰壹書五章6節，了解經文裡所講的血和水代表甚麼。
2. 請翻閱腓立比書二章12-13節及以弗所書二章8-10節，了解我們為何要行善。

減碳行動
＞省察‧禱告

血是基督為我們犧牲贖罪，拯救我們；而水則是神的靈在我們裡面，改變我們。從基督肋旁的傷口流出的血和水，讓我們認識到從血帶給我們永遠的完全，和藉著水使我們得以成聖。（希伯來書十14）

＞省察‧禱告

請為香港教會及信徒禱告，求聖靈不斷轉化教會和信徒的生命：
﹣更懂得如何回應日趨惡化的環境與氣候；
﹣好好管理大地和其上的萬物；
﹣並關顧、扶助身邊及遠方深受環境與氣候問題困擾和傷害的社群；
﹣活出主的公義與憐憫。

Having a review on the day to day operations and gathering arrangements for improvement on those activities that may result in carbon fast.  Pray for your own congregation, that they be led in carbon fast activities, caring more with love the earth and the poor communities; and that each of them may share with pastors, church leaders or his mentor his meditation and reflection during the Lent and make proposals on carbon fast measures, so that the whole church is encouraged to care about the earth and love the poor!

審視你教會的日常運作及聚會安排上，有哪些地方可以／需要實踐減碳行動。請為你的教會禱告，求神帶領你的教會透過減碳行動，更多關愛大地和貧困社群；並於復活節後，向牧者、長執或導師分享大齋期的默想與省察，並提出減碳建議，鼓勵教會一起顧惜大地、關愛貧窮。
