2010/03/12 Day 21 of Lent

Learning self-control and saying 'No’ to any luxury consumer products and entertainment

Day 21 of Lent   12 March 2010 (Friday)

Scripture Meditation> Luke 10:25-37
1. If the ‘good Samaritan’ story happened in a nowadays situation with environmental and climatic problem, then whose neighbour are we?
2. Do we act like thieves robbing the earth of its natural resources?

Carbon Fast
> Confess
In the economic benefit-orientated development of today’s world, people arbitrarily strip the earth of its resources, leading to global warming, ecological imbalance, deforestation, ocean and land pollution, etc. We, as a consumer, are accountable to stripping nature of its "clothes”, exploiting impoverished communities, which lived on the natural resources, and neglecting their sufferings.
> ‘Say “No”’
Recommend to you, from now on to Easter, to spend  money on daily necessities only, learning self-control and saying 'No’ to any luxury consumer products and entertainment.
