Scripture Meditation> Matthew 27:26–31
1. Why did the soldiers spit at Jesus’ face? How was Jesus hurt by such an action?2. Have you acted like the soldier in hurting or doing discomfort to others? Have you spoilt the resources on the earth or brought down the value of creation in satisfying your own desires?
3. Why Jesus tolerated our spitting and got onto the cross?

If soldier’s spit symbolize our dirt in heart, Jesus has taken it up to the cross and borne the curse for us. (Gal 3:13–14)

In the reflection for the past few weeks, do you find anything in your habits that is damaging the environment and aggravate the suffering of the poor at places far away due to climate change? Please bring the dirt to our Lord’s cross for his forgiveness. Praying Him to strengthen our heart in keeping a life-style of carbon fast in facing the threat of climate change to the land and poor community.

默想經文＞馬太福音廿七章26-31節
1. 士兵為何要吐唾沫在耶穌臉上？這舉動對耶穌帶來甚麼傷害？2. 你曾否像士兵一樣，做過一些貶損別人，故意使人難堪的事？又有沒有為了滿足自己，耗用及浪費地球資源，貶損萬物的價值？
3. 為甚麼耶穌要忍受人類的唾沫，並帶著附在臉頰上的唾沫，釘身十架？

若士兵的唾沫象徵我們心中的污穢，耶穌將污穢帶到十架上，為我們受了咒詛。（加拉太書三13-14）

省察過去數星期的減碳行動中，有否發現哪些過去固有的生活習慣，確實破壞環境，加劇遠方貧窮社群因環境與氣候問題所受到的影響？請將這些傷害大地與貧困者的「污穢」帶到基督的十架上。求神赦免，並堅固我們的決心，為著神所愛的世界與貧困者，繼續持守減碳生活，與大地及貧困社群共抗環境與氣候惡化的威脅。
